Kartarpur Sahib

Waheguru Ji da Khalsa Shri Waheguruji di Fateh
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਿਹ!

Sat Sri Akaal Friends,

By God’s will i got Chance to Visit Kartarpur Sahib. Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib is where Sikhism’s founder, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, spent the last 18 years of his life. Access to the Gurudwara was cut off after partition. But now Indian pilgrims can access it from India via the Kartarpur Corridor that extends 4.5 km into Pakistan. The corridor can only be used to visit the Gurudwara. You cannot leave the area and go further into Pakistan.

Writing this blog to provide all required information here from registration till entering Pakistan Visiting Darbar Sahib and returning back to INDIA.

Ø  Will start with the Paper work required:-

1.    Passport Is Must: Please note Passport is must you cannot get the ETA without it. Aadhar is not accepted for passing the boarder. I know it’s disappointed that many devotees dnt have passport and wanted to visit it on Aadhar but that is not possible for now. Even foreigners are not allowed to use the Corridor for now, only Indain Passport holder and OCI Holder.

v  Your passport is not getting any stamp so please be rest assured

2.    ETA: If you intend to visit darbar sahib you need to register yourself on the website, provide some details and get the ETA it’s free of cost. You ll get the confirmation of your travel 4 days prior to your selected date.
Link for registration is: https://prakashpurb550.mha.gov.in/kpr/

3.    20USD: yes there is a fee of 20UD, one need to pay 20USD to Pakistani authorities to before immigration. Recommendation: get it exchanged from your home place as there you ll charge your INR1800/- if you dnt have USD.

Ø  Who Can Visit: INDIAN Citizens Irrespective of Religion (Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, Jain, Parsi etc) any one can visit but must have a valid passport.
OCI: Overseas Citizens of India Card holders can also use the corridor but for now foreign passport holders cannot use the corridor.

  Ø  How to Reach:
Kartarpur is the Pakistan side of the border (4 km away from the border), and its Indian counterpart is Gurdaspur. Hence, you will have to reach Gurdaspur and then on follow protocol to reach Kartarpur in order to visit the shrine.

By air - The nearest airport to Gurdaspur is the
Amritsar airport, which is well-connected to the rest of India. If you are travelling from Delhi, it will take you about 1 hour 5 minutes.

Please note there is no direct train from Amritsar station so if you are coming to Amritsar via train you need to get other train from Verka. I recommend taking public transport from Amritsar, I used outstation Taxi from OLA it cost me 1800/- only return journey from my hotel in Amritsar –Kartarpur Corridor and Back to hotel.

Ø  India Immigration & Customs: After Reaching Corridor we are welcomed by our brave forces with smile on the face and JIA HIND.
